The Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology is an academic department in the College of Arts and Sciences at the . The department conducts research in numerous aspects of biology ranging from ecosystems to genetics.[1] The department seeks to maintain an environment that encourages the exploration of "ecological and evolutionary relationships that define the world around us."[2]

Ecology and evolutionary biology (EEB) is an approach to university level biology that seeks to integrate the disciplines of ecology and evolutionary biology. The EEB department at the University of Colorado employs approximately 35 tenured or tenure track faculty and currently has 80 graduate students.
